Ingredients

Ingredients for 10 burger buns

For the dough:
500 g Miscela per pizza
40 g sugar
150 g warm water
125 g fresh double cream
1 egg
40 g soft butter
Additional ingredients:
1 egg (for brushing)
q.s. sesame seeds
10 beef burger patties (100 g each)
10 slices of melting cheese
10 lettuce leaves
10 slices of tomato
q.s. onion
q.s. ketchup
q.s. mayonnaise

Preparation

For the buns

  1. To make the homemade burger buns, place the Pizza Mix, sugar, lukewarm water, double cream and egg in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix until a smooth dough forms. 
  2. Add the softened butter in small cubes and continue kneading until fully incorporated and the dough is smooth and elastic.
  3. Shape the dough into a ball, cover, and let it rise in a warm, draught-free spot until doubled in size – this will take around 2 hours. 
  4. Once risen, divide the dough into 10 equal pieces (around 90 g each), and shape each one into a smooth ball. 
  5. Place the dough balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and gently flatten them with your hands. 
  6. Cover with a clean tea towel and leave to rest for another 30 minutes. 
  7. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 190°C (conventional). 
  8. After resting, brush the buns with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. 
  9. Bake at 190°C for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. 

Assembling the burgers 

  1. Cook the beef patties in a hot frying pan to your preferred level of doneness. 
  2. While they cook, slice the buns in half and lightly toast the cut sides in a pan for a few minutes. 
  3. To assemble: place the base of each bun on a serving tray or board, spread with a little mayonnaise, add a lettuce leaf, a burger patty, a slice of cheese, a slice of tomato, some onion and ketchup. 
  4. Finish with the top of the bun and secure with a wooden skewer. 
  5. Serve your homemade burgers straight away, with extra sauce on the side if you like.
